Features Of 'Universal Security Instruments HS-5300 Portable Programmable 105DB Motion Sensing Security Alarm'
This 90-Degree motion sensor can be aimed for optimum sensitivity and detects motions up to 60-Feet away
You can select between two sounds: loud 105-decibel siren or a chime tone
The unit has a programmable personal security code; And a 60 second exit delay
This model has a selectable entry delay of 5, 10 or 15 seconds. Along with an adjustable alarm time of 30, 60 or 90 seconds
The unit is portable, but can be table/wall mounted; ideal for houses, entrance ways, patios, garages, apartments, office, rvs, boats and retail stores
This does the job it's supposed to do. Just make sure when you change the battery, you do it within 3 minutes. I forgot about this (and lost the manual!), so I had to go looking online to figure out how to reprogram it with my personal PIN. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to find a manual online, and the alarm is working for me once again.
The battery will need to be changed every other month or so. The alarm is nice and loud, enough to wake most people, even several rooms away. If you're looking for something that's cheap and easy with no monthly service fees, this is for you.
BTW, in response to "Bill" who said there's an American flag on the unit, mine has no such thing. It's clearly marked as made in China but marketed through Universal in Maryland.
not made in USA
not that many electronics are nowadays, but this product has a U.S. flag prominent in the place one might normally look for "Made In" info. In fine print it says that the product was 'engineered and designed' "In the USA" --- to the right of that is "Made in China." The company's 'code of conduct' states: "Integrity requires, among other things, being honest and candid. Deceit and subordination of principle are inconsistent with integrity." Sorry, the labeling can be seen by a reasonable person as being deceitful and less than candid. Why do they not have a Chinese Flag next to the words "Made in China?"
